McAllister King Takes Part in Windsor Spitfires OHL Training Camp

Rochester Jr. Americans 2010 AAA player McAllister “Mac” King recently took another step in his hockey development, participating in the Windsor Spitfires’ 2026 training camp.

King, a 2010-born player and one of the younger players at camp, was selected by Windsor in the 13th round of the OHL Priority Selection earlier this year. He has been a member of the Jr. Amerks 2010 AAA team for several years and also plays high school hockey for Penfield.

The training camp was Mac’s second opportunity to spend time with the Spitfires after attending the organization’s Orientation Camp in June.

Windsor gave its prospects a full major junior experience from the moment they arrived. Players had access to the Spitfires’ staff, trainers, facilities and team amenities, with meals provided throughout camp. Parents were also included in meetings on the opening day to learn more about the organization and what is expected of players at the OHL level. Practices and games were open to the public, giving Spitfires fans an opportunity to watch the organization’s prospects compete.

Mac opened camp as a member of Team Red, taking part in practices, skills sessions and games. Following several days of evaluation, he was selected to continue on to the Blue & White Game, where he played for Team Blue.

The opportunity put Mac inside one of the OHL’s most established organizations. Windsor has produced numerous NHL players over the years, including Taylor Hall, Adam Henrique, Cam Fowler, Ed Jovanovski and Jason Spezza. Hall won back-to-back Memorial Cups with Windsor before becoming the No. 1 overall selection in the 2010 NHL Draft.

More recently, Windsor has continued to produce high-end NHL prospects. Jack Nesbitt was selected 12th overall in the 2025 NHL Draft, and Ethan Belchetz was selected 17th overall in the 2026 NHL Draft.

For Mac, the week was a chance to compete alongside other OHL prospects, experience the day-to-day environment of a major junior organization and continue building on the development that has taken place during his years with the Jr. Amerks.

Congratulations to Mac on a great experience in Windsor and for representing the Rochester Jr. Americans at the OHL level.
