Mcallister King Selected by Windsor Spitfires in OHL Priority Selection Draft

The Rochester Jr. Amerks are proud to congratulate defenseman Mcallister King on being selected by the Windsor Spitfires in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) Priority Selection Draft.

Mac has been a part of the Jr. Amerks family since he was a young player, developing through our program and growing into one of the top defensemen in the region. His selection in the OHL Draft is a testament to years of hard work, dedication, and commitment to his development both on and off the ice.

In addition to his success with the Jr. Amerks, Mac also plays for Penfield High School, where he has continued to establish himself as a dependable and talented defenseman. Throughout his youth hockey career, he has consistently demonstrated strong hockey IQ, leadership, and a team-first approach that has made him a respected teammate and competitor.

Mac has been a major contributor to the Rochester Jr. Amerks 2010 AAA team, helping lead the program to back-to-back appearances at the New York State Championships over the past two seasons. His steady presence on the blue line, ability to contribute in all situations, and commitment to team success have played an important role in the team’s achievements.

The Ontario Hockey League is one of the premier junior hockey leagues in North America and is widely recognized as a leading development path for elite players pursuing collegiate, professional, and NHL opportunities. The league has produced hundreds of NHL players and is considered one of the top developmental leagues in the world for players in this age group.

Founded in 1975, the Windsor Spitfires are one of the OHL’s most successful and recognizable franchises. Based in Windsor, Ontario, the organization has captured multiple OHL Championships and Memorial Cup titles while developing numerous NHL players throughout its history. The Spitfires are known for their strong player development culture and commitment to helping young athletes reach their full potential.
