Coaching Updates for 13U Teams
Rochester, NY – The Rochester Jr. Americans have finalized coaching assignments for the 13U age group ahead of the upcoming season, reinforcing a strong commitment to player development during this critical stage of transition to full-ice competition.
The 13U AAA team will be led by Ryan Gage and Jody Gage, bringing a combination of high-level playing experience and a long-standing connection to the organization. Ryan Gage, a former collegiate player at SUNY Geneseo, has been a consistent presence within the Jr. Amerks program and is well-regarded for his ability to connect with players and advance their development on and off the ice.
Jody Gage returns behind the bench with decades of experience at the professional and youth levels. A Rochester hockey icon, Gage enjoyed a distinguished career with the Rochester Americans and competed in the National Hockey League with the Detroit Red Wings and Buffalo Sabres. His extensive background in player development includes operating summer hockey schools and mentoring numerous athletes who have advanced to collegiate hockey programs.
The organization also announces that Andy Christianson has made the decision to step away from the Jr. Amerks. A long-time coach within the program, Christianson has made a meaningful impact on many players and families over the years. The Jr. Amerks thank him for his dedication and contributions to the organization.
At the AA level, KC Burritt will serve as Head Coach for the 13U AA1 team, while Mike Carbone will lead the 13U AA2 team. Both coaches bring valuable experience and a strong commitment to skill development and team play.
Plans for a 13U AA3 team will be determined based on the number of 2013 birth year players and the organization’s ability to field a competitive roster aligned with appropriate developmental standards. If sufficient numbers are not reached, 2013 players will have the opportunity to try out for the 14U AA Mixed team, which includes both 2012 and 2013 birth years.
