We're committed to maximizing the potential of all Jr. Amerks who step on the ice, including our goalies. We build training into our programs to help every goalie improve their technique, confidence, and game readiness each season.
Every Jr. Amerks goaltender, from our House program to our Tier I (AAA) teams, receives dedicated goalie-specific training sessions as part of their season schedule. Our goaltending curriculum is built around the modern game and is designed to address the unique demands of the position. Each session is tailored to develop specific goaltending skills, with adjustments to meet age-appropriate and skill-specific development goals.

We have partnered with New Edge School of Goaltending to provide top-notch goalie development training in the Jr. Amerks player development program. Throughout the season, we offer dedicated goalie-specific training sessions for all goalies in the organization at no additional cost.
With the expertise of New Edge School of Goaltending, our program follows a meticulously designed progression plan. The drills and coaching techniques implemented are geared towards cultivating highly competitive, mobile, athletic, and fundamentally sound goaltenders who can excel in the hockey ranks.
EXPOSURE opportunities
We are dedicated to helping our goaltenders rise to the top of their game. Through partnerships with New York State Amateur Hockey Association and USA Hockey, our goalies have access to elite development camps tailored to their position. These camps offer exceptional training and exposure to scouts and coaches at the junior, college and professional levels. We provide Jr. Amerks goaltenders with the resources, training and opportunities to develop their skills and pursue their hockey dreams with confidence.
Investing in Our Goalies
We are committed to supporting the development of young goaltenders and fostering a passion for the position. Goalies in our 9U and 10U age groups—both house and travel teams—pay just 50% of their Jr. Amerks fees. This program is designed to encourage more players to explore and thrive in the goalie position as they progress from 8U to full-ice play.
Recognizing the financial challenges associated with playing goalie, including the cost of specialized equipment like pads, helmets, skates, and protective gear, this incentive aims to reduce those barriers. By easing the financial burden, we hope to inspire more players to not only try playing goalie but to stick with it and continue developing their skills with us.
This incentive is available to two goalies per team, ensuring every team benefits from dedicated and enthusiastic players in the crease. Whether you’re an existing Jr. Amerks goalie or joining the organization for the first time, our program is here to support you.
