Kyle’s Slap Shot Challenge is August 3, 2024

Kyle’s Slap Shot Challenge Tournament and Festival is Saturday, August 3, at Rochester Ice Center. Now in its fourth year, the tournament is exclusively for Jr. Amerks players 8U and up, house and travel, and it’s our official kickoff to the 2024-25 season. The proceeds from the tournament support Kyle’s Slap Shot Challenge Foundation to benefit Golisano Children’s Hospital.

There is 3v3 hockey for the kids inside the rink, and a festival outside for the entire community with live music, games, food and auction items. Also, our used equipment tent sale is back to support the Jr. Amerks Sean Shortsleeve Memorial Scholarship fund, a needs-based scholarship fund that helps Jr. Amerks families cover their season dues.

Registration is $30 and includes three, half-ice games (approx. 20 min. each). We form teams based on birth year, and mix the players by skill level to keep teams as even as possible. There are winners for each division, along with a prize for the Slap Shot Challenge contest winner in each age group! We have a great time every year supporting a great cause, and we hope to see as many Jr. Amerks as possible attend the event.
