Jake SanSoucie Selected for 2025 USA Hockey Boys 16U National Development Camp
The Rochester Jr. Americans are proud to spotlight alumni Jake SanSoucie (2009) for his selection to the 2025 USA Hockey Boys National 16 Player Development Camp, one of the premier development opportunities for youth hockey players in the United States.
Jake has been a part of the Jr. Amerks organization since his earliest years, beginning at the mites level and growing through the ranks to become a key player on our 2009 AAA team led by Head Coach Shawn Wilkins. His journey exemplifies the values of hard work, consistency, and love for the game — and we couldn’t be more thrilled to see his efforts recognized on the national stage.
Next season, Jake will continue his academic and athletic development at Gilmour Academy in Cleveland, Ohio, a top-tier prep school with a strong hockey pedigree.
The USA Hockey Boys National 16 Camp will be held June 25 – July 1, 2025, at the Northtown Center in Amherst, New York. This camp features the top 2009-born male players from across the country who are registered with USA Hockey for the 2024–25 season.
Participants will take part in an intense, age-specific development program designed to push them both physically and mentally. The camp includes:
-
On-ice training such as skill drills, small-area games, and competitive scenarios
-
Off-ice development, including strength and conditioning, team-building activities, mental skills, classroom sessions, and nutrition education
Unlike a traditional tournament, the Boys National 16 Camp is structured as a grueling week of skill development and evaluation, offering players the chance to sharpen their abilities while competing at the highest level.
Importantly, this camp also serves as an evaluation platform for the U.S. Under-17 Select Team, which will compete later this year at the Five Nations Tournament — one of the most prestigious international showcases for players in this age group.
Jake’s selection is a testament to his talent, commitment, and the years of development he has put in both on and off the ice. Congratulations, Jake — the entire Jr. Amerks community is cheering you on!
