Alex Economides has dedicated the better part of the last seven years to coaching, bringing his expertise and passion to the Jr. Amerks organization since 2018. He has played a pivotal role in coaching various 13U-18U AAA teams, showcasing his ability to guide and develop young athletes at competitive levels.

Currently, Alex is the head coach for the Penfield High School JV team, a position he has held for four years, demonstrating his leadership and strategic planning skills on and off the ice. His coaching accolades include leading the Oswego women’s club hockey team to a club championship in 2016, highlighting his versatility and commitment to excellence in hockey coaching.

A Fairport native, Alex’s journey in hockey is both personal and extensive, having played AAA hockey for Perinton Youth Hockey until he was 13 years old. Despite stepping away from competitive play for family and personal reasons, his love for the game never waned, as evidenced by his active participation in men’s leagues around Rochester.

Off the ice, Alex is a Financial Representative at Raymond James Financial in Rochester, applying the same dedication and analytical skills to his professional career as he does to coaching. He graduated from Oswego in 2016 with a B.S. in Finance, further solidifying his foundation in strategic thinking and planning. Residing in his hometown of Fairport, Alex continues to be deeply embedded in the local hockey scene, contributing significantly to the sport and community he loves.
