14U AAA (NYS 14U Tournament Bound)

Alex Economides has dedicated the better part of the last seven years to coaching, bringing his expertise and passion to the Jr. Amerks organization since 2018. He has played a pivotal role in coaching various 13U-18U AAA teams, showcasing his ability to guide and develop young athletes at competitive levels.

Currently, Alex is the head coach for the Penfield JV team, a position he has held for three years, demonstrating his leadership and strategic planning skills on and off the ice. His coaching accolades include leading the Oswego women’s club hockey team to a club championship in 2016, highlighting his versatility and commitment to excellence in hockey coaching.

A Fairport native, Alex’s journey in hockey is both personal and extensive, having played AAA hockey for Perinton Youth Hockey until he was 13 years old. Despite stepping away from competitive play for family and personal reasons, his love for the game never waned, as evidenced by his active participation in men’s leagues around Rochester.

Off the ice, Alex is a Financial Representative at Raymond James Financial in Rochester, applying the same dedication and analytical skills to his professional career as he does to coaching. He graduated from Oswego in 2016 with a B.S. in Finance, further solidifying his foundation in strategic thinking and planning. Residing in his hometown of Fairport, Alex continues to be deeply embedded in the local hockey scene, contributing significantly to the sport and community he loves.

David Allen brings a rich background of experience and passion to the Jr. Amerks, where he has been coaching for approximately five years. His hockey journey began in West Irondequoit, where he played travel hockey before continuing his athletic and academic pursuits for two years at Canisius College. This early immersion in the sport laid the groundwork for his deep understanding of hockey and its dynamics.

Transitioning from player to coach, David has dedicated five years to nurturing young talent within the Jr. Amerks organization, applying his knowledge and love for the game to help develop the next generation of players. His commitment to the sport extends beyond the rink; David is also a social studies teacher in Greece, NY, where he brings the same passion and dedication to his students.

Living in Webster with his wife Aimee and their three children, Ellie, Harry, and Sully, David's life is deeply rooted in family and hockey. A die-hard Sabres fan, his enthusiasm for hockey is contagious, both at home and on the ice. David's multifaceted roles as a coach, teacher, and family man underscore his commitment to community and the positive impact he strives to make through his love for the game.

Steve Bottoni has been working with our 2010's for the past five seasons and is returning as head coach.

Coach Bottoni has been an assistant coach for the McQuaid Jesuit High School hockey program for 20 years. Over the past 10 years, Bottoni has also been a part of the coaching staff for various AAA teams (15u, 16u, 18u), Webster Youth Hockey (15u, 16u) and other coaching roles within our organization. A Rochester native, Bottoni played hockey at McQuaid Jesuit High School, Monroe Community College, and University of Rochester.

Coach Bottoni resides in Webster with his wife and two children.

13U/14U AA Mixed Age Team

Jeff is set to lead the team for another season as head coach. Last season, as Head Coach of the 13U/14U AA Travel team, he spearheaded the development of a predominantly first-year travel player team, achieving significant growth. This accomplishment highlighted his adeptness in nurturing young talent.

With seven seasons of coaching experience within the Rochester Jr. Amerks system, Renelt brings a wealth of knowledge to the team. He has earned the USA Hockey Level 4 Coaching Certification and the USA Hockey Bronze Goalie Certification and is progressing toward completing his USA Hockey Level 5 Coaching Certification.

Renelt's coaching philosophy emphasizes skill development, teamwork, and resilience, aiming to inspire both on and off the ice. His dedication is a driving force behind the team's success and player development.

Empire house league teams

We will be offering several house teams for the upcoming season, competing in the local Empire Amateur Hockey Conference. Players are born between January 1, 2010 and December 31, 2011 are combined in the 14U Bantam age group.

Player evaluations are set for early April 2024 to determine team placements. The season kicks off in September, offering young players a fantastic opportunity to develop their skills and compete in a supportive and dynamic environment.
