14U Girls Tier I Team Wins New York State Championship, Advances to Nationals

The Rochester Jr. Americans 14U Girls Tier I team dominated the competition at the New York State Championship tournament, going undefeated with a perfect 5-0 record. Capping off their impressive run, the team defeated the Amherst Lady Knights 6-1 in the championship game to claim the state title and punch their ticket to the USA Hockey National Tournament in Marlborough, Mass., next month.

From start to finish, the team showcased outstanding skill, depth, and teamwork. They outscored their opponents 20-2 over the course of the tournament, proving their dominance at both ends of the ice. Leading the way offensively was Teagan Coyne, who had a standout performance with 5 goals and 2 assists.

Goaltenders Regan Healy and Olivia Wilson were nearly unbeatable throughout the tournament, each allowing just one goal while making key saves in big moments. Their strong play in net, combined with a relentless team effort, helped secure the championship.

With the state title in hand, the team now turns its focus to Nationals, where they will compete against the best teams in the country. Congratulations to Coach Scott McDonald and the entire team on an incredible achievement, and best of luck in Marlborough!
