14U AAA Compete in NYSAHA Tier I Championship Tournament
The Rochester Jr. Americans 14U AAA team showcased their talent and determination at the New York State Amateur Hockey Association (NYSAHA) Tier I Championship Tournament. Facing some of the top competition in the state, the team put forth a strong effort throughout the weekend.
In their opening game, the Jr. Amerks secured a decisive 3-0 victory over the Buffalo Regals, setting the tone for a competitive tournament. Their next matchup presented a significant challenge as they faced the #6 nationally ranked Bishop Kearney Selects. Despite battling hard, the Jr. Amerks came up short against a formidable opponent.
The final game of the tournament saw the Jr. Amerks go head-to-head with the Long Island Gulls, who were ranked #16 nationally and went on to win the NYSAHA championship. The Jr. Amerks played a highly competitive game, keeping it close throughout, but ultimately fell to the eventual state champions.
Under the leadership of Head Coach Alex Economides, the Jr. Amerks demonstrated resilience and effort in every game. Their performance at the state tournament was a testament to their dedication and hard work throughout the season. The players left it all on the ice, proving they belong among the top teams in New York.
