Jr. Amerks Announce 14U Coaching Staff and Expanded Team Structure for Upcoming Season

We are pleased to announce updates to the coaching staff and team structure for the upcoming 14U season, highlighted by the formation of three competitive teams at this age level.

Based on strong interest and depth across the player pool, the program will expand from two teams last season to three teams this year. This structure allows for properly sized rosters and ensures a strong development environment across all teams, with each group positioned to be competitive throughout the season.

Leading the 14U teams will be an experienced and well-rounded coaching staff:

AAA – Tim Finke will serve as head coach at the AAA level. Finke brings significant Tier I AAA experience and has been a key part of the Jr. Amerks program. His teams play with pace, structure, and discipline, and he has consistently helped players develop the habits and details needed to advance to higher levels of hockey.

AA1 – Mike Ferreri will lead one of the AA teams. Ferreri has served as the Victor High School Varsity Head Coach for over a decade and is widely respected for his ability to develop players and build competitive teams. He brings a strong emphasis on fundamentals, compete level, and preparing players for the next stage of their hockey careers.  KC Burritt will also serve as a head coach at the AA level. Burritt has been an integral part of the organization and brings a steady, development-first approach. His teams emphasize accountability, skill progression, and creating a positive, competitive environment for players to improve.

AA2 – Adam Burnham will take on the role of head coach for the third team. Burnham adds valuable experience and energy to the staff, with a strong focus on teaching and player development. His addition supports the program’s commitment to maintaining quality coaching across all teams at this level.

“With the depth of players in this age group, expanding to three teams allows us to place players in the right environment for their development,” said Hockey GM Francois Methot. “Each team will be competitive and provide a strong experience for our players.”

Tryouts will take place March 31 through April 3 at Rochester Ice Center, with AAA evaluations scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, followed by AA evaluations on Thursday and Friday.

Additional details, including team placements and next steps, will be communicated following the conclusion of tryouts.
