Jr. Amerks Alum Ryan Sember Commits to University of Saint Joseph

The Rochester Jr. Americans are proud to recognize the continued success of alum Ryan Sember, who has committed to the University of Saint Joseph in Hartford, Connecticut for the upcoming season.

Ryan began his hockey journey in the Jr. Amerks program at a young age and developed through our system before advancing to the next level. Following his 14U season during the COVID-affected year, he moved on to Boston Hockey Academy for a season, then joined the New England Wolves alongside his older brother, continuing his junior hockey path.

Most recently, Ryan played for the New Hampshire Avalanche in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL), one of the top junior leagues in the country. The Avalanche are known for consistently advancing players to NCAA programs, placing more than 10 players per season into college hockey. This past year, the team captured the EHL regular season title and made a strong playoff run, reaching the semifinals before falling to the eventual champions.

A steady and reliable defenseman, Ryan has continued to develop his game at every level. Prior to leaving for juniors, he attended McQuaid Jesuit locally in Rochester.

Ryan will now take the next step in his hockey and academic career at the University of Saint Joseph, where he will be part of the inaugural roster for the school’s new NCAA Division III men’s hockey program.

Congratulations to Ryan and his family on this exciting achievement.
