Posted: September 4, 2026
Location: Rochester, New York
Type: Part-Time/Seasonal
Compensation: $20/session
The Rochester Jr. Americans are seeking experienced hockey players to serve as paid shooters for our goalie development clinics, led by Danny Kuntz and New Edge School of Goaltending.
This is a unique part-time opportunity for high school and college hockey players to earn extra money while helping develop Jr. Amerks goaltenders from 8U through 19U.
Position Responsibilities
Shooters will work under the direction of New Edge instructors during goalie-specific drills and stations. Responsibilities include:
- Providing shots during goalie drills and stations
- Shooting to specific locations as directed by instructors
- Adjusting shot speed and difficulty based on the age and ability of the goalie
- Providing accurate, consistent and repeatable shots
- Moving between stations and participating in different drills
- Following instructions from the New Edge coaching staff
Shooters must understand that the role is not simply about shooting the puck as hard as possible. The ability to control shot location, speed and timing is important to creating an effective training environment for goalies of different ages and skill levels.
Schedule & Commitment
Clinics are held approximately every other week from September through February 15. (FULL SCHEDULE)
Each clinic date consists of two consecutive one-hour sessions, for a typical two-hour commitment.
We are looking for shooters who can attend the majority of scheduled clinic dates. Consistency is important, and our goal is to develop a dependable group of approximately six shooters for each clinic.
Applying with a teammate or friends? We can accommodate pairs or small groups of players who would like to work the same clinic dates together.

Ideal candidates are current high school or college hockey players. Applicants must:
- Be at least 14 years old
- Have competitive hockey playing experience
- Be able to shoot accurately and with sufficient velocity
